On March 15, 1948, Sergio Vieira de Mello, one of the most well-known and honored internationalists in the world, was born in the city of Rio de Janeiro. In order to recognize the legacy and memory of this professional and his importance to our choice of careers and to the image of Brazil in the world, the National Association of International Relations Professionals (ANAPRI), together with the Sergio Vieira de Mello Center - the organization that promotes Sergio’s memory- launch a public petition to recognize and honor Sergio's birthday as the Day of the Internationalist: March 15. The first step consists in collecting signatures to handing them to both the Presidents of the Chamber of Representatives and the Federal Senate, and then to hold a public hearing with relevant entities that support the initiative.
