At the invitation of the Director General of the Rio Branco Institute, Ambassador Gisela Maria Figueiredo Padovan, Sergio Vieira de Mello Center gave a presentation in front of the students of the Diplomacy Training Course.  Carolina spoke informally and answered questions of the diplomatic students about the life, work and legacy of Sergio Vieira de Mello, and the personal experience of sharing a career in the UN.

On a regular basis, students of the Training Course (including diplomats from other countries invited through cooperation agreements) are professionally trained with functional training and performance activities such as lectures, with the participation of guests and experts in areas and themes relevant to the policy Brazilian foreign policy  Lectures and presentations such as the CSVM serve as a complement to the students' learning and training, and constitute the true initiation of the young diplomat in standards and techniques, and in the development of foreign policy.

The Rio Branco Institute was created in 1945, in the wake of the celebrations of the centenary of the birth of the Baron of Rio Branco, patron of Brazilian diplomacy. The Institute has become, during its almost 70 years of existence, an international reference as a diplomatic academy. Its headquarters are decorated by the famous Trailing Azulejos Panel by the artist Athos Bulcão.
